Here is the reply from a tech at Fuji Xerox Australia - 'This is a sensor timing issue normal caused by the toner carousel not turning, have you recently installed any toners, might be worthwhile taking them out and reinserting them. If not it will need a service. The printer appears to be out of warranty could you please ring us on 1800-811-177 option2.' Here is what fixed the problem - 004-321 is a TR0 error, which means the accumulator belt could not find the beginning of belt mark.
Cd C 525A_LinuxE. Should contain file 'Fuji_Xerox-DocuPrint_C 525_A_AP-1.0-1.i386.rpm' which is the 32bit version of the driver for Red Hat or derivatives. Install the newly created file 'fuji-xerox-docuprint-c 525-a-ap_1.0-2_all.deb' using your preferred method.
The belt is part of the Drum Cartridge. Replaced the drum cartridge, reset printer. And hey presto! All fixed!!:). Just in case others like myself have this problem, and go to google to fix their c525a, here is how I got my drum cartridge working again without replacing it. 'the accumulator belt could not find the beginning of belt mark' - this is the key. I pulled the drum cartridge out, unscrewed the covers, and removed the blue cylinder inside the drum cartridge (not the blue toner!
This is inside the drum cartridge). You'll need something to twist the bronze coloured end, so that it can slip out, and take off the screws at the other end.
This will loosen the belt, once you take that out. On the belt is a little square, like a silvery mirror. I'm assuming this is the beginning of belt marker. What I noticed is that my belt was out of line - it was much closer to one side of the other. Given this, it seems reasonable to assume that the marker can't be found. With the belt loose, I rotated it by hand while pushing it the other direction so that it lined up more correctly. Once it was more central, I put it back together, put it in the printer, and it worked.
I hope this helps someone else fix theirs. I was very surprised that my drum cartridge failed, because they are supposed to last much longer than the other toner, yet my drum cartridge failed first. The fuji-xerox support I called told me I'd need to buy a new one, but I thought they probably tell me that because it's far more difficult to explain how to fix it. Seemed like a waste of money to buy a new one for a problem that I felt should be fixable. Fortunately, it was.
Thanks for posting the info on the accumulator belt marker, that's what helped me realise what the problem was. My friend has a Fuji Xerox c525A (Dell C3100). I have seen from page the following: Error code: 004-332 'This type of error code implies that you need to restart the printer again.
However, do check to see if toner cartridges are seated in the proper position. Also ensure that they have been locked in.' Does anyone know where to find the service manual for the Fuji Xerox c525A / Dell C3100 apart from: On page 35 the service manual says about this error code: 'The PWBA MCU did not receive the output signals from the Rotary Home Position Sensor within the specified time after the Rotary Developer had started rotation.' Can anyone explain how to fix the error in laymans language?
I believe I have got the toner cartridges in the correct position and they are locked.
